Are you 18 years +? Out of work and not in education? Looking for a new path?
What about…
A free Event Management course which includes a work placement in a local arts festival?
The course will give you a basic introduction to all the areas involved in running and managing an outdoor event and will include aspects of stage management and sound, stewarding , Health and Safety and events management.
The course will allow you to work in teams and build your knowledge in essential areas such as finance, first aid, risk assessment, publicity and marketing and customer care skills.
Working with Industry Specialists you will receive a reference at the end of the course, links to local festivals and potential employers and a Certificate of Achievement.
Dates of the course:
Tues 30 August 10 – 4pm
Tues 6 Sept 10 – 4pm
Tues 13 Sept 10 – 4pm
One Day Placement at Out There on Saturday 17 Sept or Sunday 18 Sept
Tues 20 Sept 10 – 2pm

Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Contributions towards expenses such as travel and childcare can be made. As places are limited interviews will be held with all applicants. We are particularly keen to receive applications from women, lone parents and those aged 50years +

Out There Event Management Course is a Team East for Skills initiative, managed by Creative Arts East, funded by the European Social Fund and Legacy Trust.
[...] The 2011 Out There Festival will take place in St. George’s Park on September 17th and 18th. Acts already confirmed include an evening spectacular called Fest Noz (night feast in Breton language) which will take place on the promenade. The headline show called Barricade will be presented by a UK contemporary circus company called No Fit State Circus. SeaChange is looking for young people aged 13-25 to work with No Fit State Circus to create a circus-inspired performance as part of the festival.
