OUTPOST & NNF 2012 Co-Commission

OUTPOST and Norfolk & Norwich Festival are pleased to announce an opportunity for a contemporary artist based in the UK to create new work to be exhibited as part of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival in May 2012..

Paid (£10k-15k pro rata) Part time
The artist selected will exhibit his or her work during Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2012 (11-26 May) alongside a significant new commission by Berlin-based artist Gregor Hylla. It will form part of the first ever co-commission by OUTPOST and Norfolk & Norwich Festival.

The exhibition is open to all artists in any medium working in the UK. The selected artist will have access to a studio space in Norwich for the production of the work from 10 April 2012 and must be present for the installation of the exhibition; technical support will be provided if required. The successful artist will receive from £1,500 for the production of the new work. There will be an additional contribution towards travel and transport.

Submissions must be in hard copy formats only, and will be selected by Norfolk & Norwich Festival and OUTPOST Steering Committee.

AURORA | OUTPOST – Call for submissions

OUTPOST and AURORA are calling for film submissions for a collaborative screening to be held as part of AURORA 2009 on Sunday 8 November. If you would like your work to be considered for inclusion in this screening, please send any new moving image work to OUTPOST by Friday 16th October.  The final selection will be made by Adam Pugh, Director of AURORA and the OUTPOST steering committee.

AURORA is a festival based in Norwich which focuses on the moving image in the most diffuse sense. This year, for its last ever edition, the festival will run from 5 – 15 November at Norwich Arts Centre, and other venues across the city. For 2009, the festival theme is ‘Common Ground’. Straying from anthropological and ethnographic studies to oblique explorations of myth and the representation of reality, the theme leads to an entirely literal reading of the ‘common ground’ in which ecology collides with social history and direct action.
