Norfolk has had a lot of films shot in the area, Stardust Elm Hill Norwich, The Duchess Swaffam, and lots more. Most people living in the area don’t even know these films are being shot. One of the films though that used all local extras and also employed local crew, like me and used one of Lowestoft’s biggest holiday camps Broadland Sands, it was no wonder the premier screening on Saturday 6th March was packed out.

The film looked amazing. It really showed off how beautiful Norfolk really is. This was all thanks to Robbie Ryan Director Of Photography, and Tom Harper Director. This was the second time seeing the film, as I went to the first screening back in May last year. I have been following the film as it toured the festivals world wide. The reviews of the film have all been amazing. Most rating the film with 4 or 5 stars out of 5. Empire magazine one of the biggest film magazines gave the film a rave review with 4 out of 5 stars. http://www.empireonline.com/reviews/reviewcomplete.asp?FID=136740

I definitally recommend going to see the film it has been described a sort of love story. It’s going to put Norfolk on the map, and hopefully it will give “Normal for Norfolk” a different meaning. Showing off the talent we have in this area. Obviously you might think I am biased, because I worked on the film, and I want as many people to go see it (just to see my name in the credits, it’s Emily Payne Runner ). If you do think I’m biased go watch it for yourself. Cinema City Norwich 19th March it’s going to be massive.

A small fact Ivana Mackinnon who is the Producer of Scouting Book For Boys was Associate Producer on Slumdog Millionaire.

Happy New Year!!!

What a year, for films in this area it has been very slow. A lot of my work has lead me to different parts of the UK, mainly Cambridge, and Scotland.

Even though film work has been slow there is soon to be a lot of films released that where shot in and around Norfolk. I went to a screening on Sunday for a film I worked on in October 2008. Waving At Trains starring Pete Postlethwaite. The film was shot in Sheringham and Aylsham. It was really great to see the film finished, it looked amazing! Hopefully the film will tour the festivals and do really well. Another notch on Norfolks film belt.

There is another film which was shot in Corton at the Broadland Sands Holiday park called Scouting Book For Boys. The film gets released on 19th March into cinemas over the UK. Definitely worth a watch. They used local crew and all of the extras where local too. If you would like to watch the trailer click on the link below.
