There will be a Jubilee Garden Party at the Great Yarmouth Community Library on Friday 25th May 3pm-5pm., and all are welcome!

There will be :

Light refreshments, plant and craft stalls, sow a seed activity, children’s craft activities, the Tollhouse Museum will be open with crown and tiara making and a West African drumming performance . Also an opportunity for people to share their memories of previous jubilee events or even the coronation for the museums archives.

Also in preparation: Bunting Making Workshop Thursday 24th May from 1.30pm-4.30pm . please come along if you can.


Norfolk Wildlife Trust events for Great Yarmouth

Walks, talks, family activities, great green getaways, adult wildlife workshops, BTCV Green Gym: there is lots on offer from Norfolk Wildlife Trust in their March to December 2012 Programme.  For full information go to www.norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk or telephone 01603 598333 for a 2012 Events Calendar. 

Examples of activities on offer in April are:
Bite Size Bats, Bugs and Birds, Thursday 5th April 1-4 pm, Community Root’s Garden, Queen Anne’s Road, Southtown. Free, not need to book, just turn up and join in.

How to Make Willow Garden Structures, Thursday 12th April 1-4 pm, Southtown, Great Yarmouth.  Free but booking essential, phone 01603 598333 to book.

Putting Wildlife on the Map, Wednesday 25th April, 10-13.00 hrs. Southtown, Great Yarmouth. Free, but booking essential, phone 01603 598333 to book.

BTCV Green Gym activities run every Wednesday afternoon and alternate Tuesday afternoons and are open to anyone over 16, whatever their capabilities.   Join BTCV Green Gym and Norfolk Wildlife Trust to discover a new way to get fit and healthy by taking part in practical nature conservation activities.  For example, on Wednesda;y 4th April, 1-4 pm., you can join Green Gym and Norfolk Wildlife Trust to discover birds and wild flowers on Beacon Park and on 22nd May, explore NWT Hickling Broad by foot and by boat on a guided tour.   Travel  to Green Gym locations can be arranged on the BTCV minibus, free of charge, from Great Yarmouth or Gorleston.  To find out more go to www.btcv.org/norfolk or phone Mark  Webster on 01493 604739.

"Poster for Fun Day at the Priory"

Have your face painted and join in with circus themed crafts and dance. Tap your feet to live music from Great Yarmouth Youth Brass Orchestra and enjoy tasty treats in the delightful Silver Darlings cafe.

Welcome to Alice Mouncer, the new curator at the Norfolk Nelson Museum at 26 South Quay, Great Yarmouth, who will be looking after the museum whilst Hannah is on maternity leave.
