Great Yarmouth & District Photographic Society
gyps@eaf.org.uk
Founded in 1948, we have around 30 members, meeting every Wednesday evening in Bradwell Community Centre from September to April and outside at photo-friendly venues in the summer.
The majority of members use digital photography in one form or another, though we still have members working with traditional black & white and colour negative film in formats up to 8×10. New members are welcomed what ever their interests or level of expertise. An exhibition of members’ work is held annually and smaller exhibitions are held from time to time as opportunities arise.
The annual subscription is £30 for the year running from the start of the winter programme in September through to the following summer, with reduced rates for families and students. Interested new-comers are welcome to attend four meetings before the subscription is due.

Vauxhall Links, All our Stories project is celebrating and raising awareness of Great Yarmouth’s rich transport heritage by holding a photography competition for enthusiastic local photographers of all ages and abilities. Did you know there used to be 5 stations and two Halts in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston and about a dozen bridges? There are still 3 main bridges carrying transport into the town along with many others including Vauxhall Bridge, the bridges of north Yarmouth such as Barnard Bridge and the many small bridges of the Waterways. We also hope to build metaphorical bridges in the community through this project.
