AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award: ‘The Meaning and Role of Community Cinema in Rural Norfolk’
School of Film and Television Studies, University of East Anglia
The University of East Anglia, in partnership with Creative Arts East, is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified applicant for a three-year collaborative PhD studentship exploring the meaning and role of community cinema in rural Norfolk. The studentship is funded through the AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Awards Scheme and includes tuition fees up to the standard amount and an annual maintenance grant of approx. £14,000.
The research will be supervised by Dr Mark Rimmer (UEA), Professor Mark Jancovich (UEA) and Alice Morelli (Creative Arts East).
Applicants should hold (or expect to achieve) a Master’s degree and either a 1st Class or Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant discipline.
CLOSING DATE for applications: midnight 27th July 2012
INTERVIEWS will be conducted on 14th August 2012
STARTING DATE: 1st October 2012

Juniors (7-12 years):
Tuesday 4pm – 5.15pm. Fee: £50 per child, per term. Course runs for three terms. No classes in half term.
Seniors (13-16 years):

A brand new young person’s theatre school for those who enjoy performance and would like to learn more.
With weekly workshops, regular projects and productions designed to increase your theatre knowledge, you’ll also be able to learn story telling, improvisation, mask work, vocal development and how to approach text.
All of the groups are facilitated by the Artistic Director and Youth Theatre Leaders. Guest tutors join us to handle specialist areas including stage combat, technical theatre, circus and street arts, dance, singing and more!
